Central Valley Health District (CVHD), established in 1973, serves as the public health department for Stutsman County (as well as Logan County). Its mission is to prevent, promote, and protect to improve the health and wellbeing of our community.

CVHD is governed by a Board of Health, which includes local appointees — among them a representative selected by the Stutsman County Commission. The District’s operations are supported through a blend of local, county, state, and federal funding, including grants, insurance reimbursements, and sliding-fee scales to ensure equitable access for all.

The main office is located at 122 2nd Street NW in downtown Jamestown, with satellite office locations in Gackle and Napoleon.

CVHD provides a wide range of programs and services designed to support community health, including:
