A feasibility study has been conducted for the Crystal Springs Watershed to address rising water levels, an issue that has been ongoing now for several decades.
Between surface water, ground water and precipitation, the water levels continue to rise and are affecting numerous locations including:
NDDOT Interstate 94 Inundation (Crystal Springs and East)
BNSF Railroad Inundation (Main Line)
Township and County Roadways
Crystal Springs Bible Camp
Recreational Lake Cabins
Ag Lands (Expanded Inundation Areas)
The Crystal Springs Watershed Initiative study evaluates options for moving excess water to other areas. The study includes assessing benefits, regulatory issues, potential costs, available grants, and any alternative water management options.
As of June, 2026 the feasibility study has been completed and is available on this page under the ‘Documents’ heading.
If you wish to contact any members of the steering committee their contact info is listed on this page under the ‘Contact’ heading. Contact info for all County Commissioners as well as Water Resource Board members is also available via the links under the ‘Department Pages’ heading on this page.
