Non-essential County offices will be closed on the following holidays:
New Year’s Day (January 1st)
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (Third Monday In January)
President’s Day (Third Monday In February)
Good Friday (Friday Preceding Easter Sunday)
Memorial Day (Last Monday In May)
Juneteenth (June 19th)
Independence Day (July 4th) Note: If the Fourth of July falls on a Tuesday, the July 3rd shall also be observed as a holiday. If the Fourth of July falls on a Thursday, July 5th shall also be observed as a holiday.
Labor Day (First Monday In September)
Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples Day (Second Monday In October)
Veteran’s Day (November 11th)
Thanksgiving (Fourth Thursday & Friday in November)
Christmas Eve (December 24th)
Christmas Day (December 25th) Note: If December 25th falls on a Thursday, December 26th shall also be observed as a holiday.
Every day appointed by the President of the United States or by the Governor of this State for a public holiday (NDCC 1-03-02).
In addition, if any holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be observed as the holiday, or if the holiday falls on Sunday, the Monday following shall be observed as the holiday.
